Domestic Landscapes by Bert Teunissen

"A long term project on the available daylight in European interiors. The houses that I search for all have in common that daylight is still the main source of light. This means that the interior is decorated in such a way that you always have maximum profit from the natural daylight. This light gives an atmosphere that has been around for centuries and that we know all too well from painters like de Hoogh, Israƫls, Vermeer and Rembrandt. The situations I photograph are the last ones left in our society. Ever since the end of the Second World War and since the standard instalment of electricity, these situations have started to disappear."
